Welcome to Carole Rodrigue's Fine Art Website!

"Painting and creating art has always been part of my nature.  When I see
the natural beauty in the world around me, I feel the need to capture it.  It is
my deepest hope that when someone looks at one of my paintings, a mood is
created."

Carole Rodrigue is an artist from the Sudbury area of  Northern Ontario, living on the
shores of the Westarm of Lake Nipissing.

Art has been a lifelong passion that she has only started to publicly show in the past two
years.  Like many artists, Carole knew from an early age that art was something which
consumed her and could not be ignored.
When she was younger, her mother and aunt
used to
paint and she'd been lucky enough to have the necessary materials around her
home to
indulge her creativity.  This creativity was usually expressed through drawing and
at about the age of fifteen, she began painting with oils.

During adulthood, the daily strains of work and home life had limited her artistic
endeavours.  She had bought into the belief that all artists were starving artists, so her
art had remained but a hobby for years.  Throughout her adult years, Carole worked at
various jobs: a certified esthetician, retail management, and a ten year term with the
Canadian federal government.  In 2002, after landing a job as a literacy instructor, she
enrolled in a college teacher of adults certificate program. After successfully completing
this, she began studying for an honour's degree in psychology.  Studying psychology was
a challenge she enjoyed although she still wasn't feeling as though this would bring her
what is was she was seeking.

One day, as she sat at home reading an art magazine, she read a comment from an
artist. He'd once been asked what was the one thing he would keep doing if he were rich,
and that answer was painting.  Carole had an epiphany and decided once and for all, she
would pursue the only thing she knew would bring the joy and satisfaction she'd been so
desperately seeking: Art! Carole decided to finally follow her passion.

Carole creates original art which is enjoyed by several clients in Canada and the United
States.
Although various subject matter will inspire her, the equine subject is one that she
is passionate about and can never put aside for long.
 Her preferred medium is acrylic
paint
, which is  versatile, long lasting, and less toxic than oils. Once in a while, she will
also create relief wood carvings.

N
ewly created works can be viewed on her blog which is regularly updated. Her blog also
contains
recent announcements and interesting musings.  Carole is  a member of the
Equine Art Guild.
and is also proud to be selected to be on the creation team for Le Cadeau du Cheval (The
Gift Horse),
a larger than life equine themed mural project from Mural Mosaic, which is
set to be unveiled at the Masters in Spruce Meadows, Alberta, September 3rd, 2208.
